I believe that rules are needed so we feel safe and happy.
I believe we need rules like: look both ways when crossing the street, treat others as you would want them to treat to you, etc.
Yet, there are also antiquated and oppressive rules that have been based solely on opinion.
There is an unspoken rule that says –the key to a happy life is to go to school, get a job, get married, buy a house, have a family. If we follow this rule we will have lived “the dream” right?
For some maybe, but for many others not so much...
Just shy of a decade ago I broke the rules when I quit my full-time teaching job and went against all “safe norms.”
And a decade later I am the happiest I have ever been!
Repeat: I broke the rules and I am the happiest I have ever been.
With so much happening all over the world:
- The COVID-19 Global Pandemic
- Police Brutality
- Severely Polarized Politics
The time is NOW more than ever to break these antiquated unspoken rules and RISE UP and into your Non-Nine-to-Five purpose.
Lets face it, you know just as well as I do that going to school and getting a job wasn’t really what you wanted to do. You went to school because that was what you were expected to do, not because it was a deep calling. You got the job you are in now because that was what you were supposed to do.
Whatever calls to you deep in your belly in that deep down place IS authentic and REAL.
And, if you’re not living a REAL AUTHENTIC life, what ARE you doing?
