Hi, I'm Jen Shultz, Founder & Leader of The Non-Nine-to-Five™
In 2010, while teaching at a high-performing and demanding school in New York City, I became completely overwhelmed.
The workload was intense, the expectations were high, and I began to feel like I couldn't breathe.
Waves of self-doubt and second guessing myself began flooding my mind.
What was wrong with me?
Why was everything feeling so hard?
Why wasn't I happy like all the other teachers?
Not only was I driving myself into extreme anxiety, my self-worth and self-esteem hit rock bottom.
On a Monday morning, I walked into the school, sat down with the principal and gave my two weeks notice.
90 days later, I started my first business, Teacher on the Go!
And in 2013, The Non-Nine-to-Five™ was born
Over the past 15 years — leaving the 9-5 world, building my own businesses, and supporting exceptional individuals in pursuing their self-employment passions — I began to see a pattern.
Successful self-employment has nothing to do with:

being the smartest person "in the room"

polished websites and curated social media pages

collecting more information or certifications

waiting until you feel fully confident and ready
