Working for yourself is one of the most amazing experiences ever AND it comes with a great level of commitment.
Somedays you’ll feel inspired, like you can’t wait to jump out of bed!
Other days you’ll feel too tired to do anything.

And what happens when we feel too tired to do anything?
What happens when we just don’t feel like it?
Do we just give up? Do we give in? Do we do nothing and then make ourselves wrong?
What is the best decision to make so we both honor ourselves and our feelings AND honor the work we have been called to do – our Non-Nine-to-Five purpose?
WE DO SOMETHING.
Years ago, my mentor said to me: SOME THING is better than NO THING.
The other morning, I felt a VERY strong energy of “I want more time for myself. I want to move slower today." BUT of course I am a business owner who has obligations and commitments so I couldn't just do nothing.
So, I acknowledged how I was feeling and I went inward. I asked my intuition what the best steps forward were and...
I allowed myself to stay in my pajamas. I didn’t shower, I didn’t get dressed, I didn’t even brush my teeth! (insert ewww here) and I sat under a blanket on my couch with my laptop and I moved slowly. Each step of the way I asked my intuition how can I honor this feeling and still be productive?
I ended up taking my dog for a long walk, getting a tea from Starbucks, sitting in the sun, making a healthy yummy lunch, connecting with a few friends, AND...
By 3:30pm my day was done. I accomplished everything I needed to.
I was both fully productive and honored myself.
When you go inward, talk to your intuition, listen to what it is saying to you, honor yourself and your commitments, you have the ability to be wildly productive.
It has taken years to get here but boy oh boy those years have been SO worth it. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Seeing you Successfully Self-Employed,
- Jen
P.S: If you yearn to be wildly productive with your Non-Nine-to-Five purpose while also honoring your feelings and moving slower please get in touch. My door is open to serve and support you (while wearing my pajamas!).
P.P.S: Regina, a member of The Non-Nine-to-Five community shared this the other day:
It's been quite a month. I am grateful for this community, the 1-1 coaching and our group trainings. To be very honest I would feel completely lost, overwhelmed and really bad about myself without this support. The best part of being part of this program is that the structures are available, the tools are available, the resources are available, the actions are available, and it is all mine for the taking.
