are you an american infant?

Marianne Williamson, my favorite thought leader wrote an editorial entitled, "The Infantilization of The American.”

She says:

We’re trained to think junk thoughts the way we’re trained to eat junk food, and we become accustomed to it. Something has to happen to jolt us out of our infantilized state. Something has to happen to remind us to grow up.

And boy is she right.

In order to step up and into who you really are, stand for what you believe in, take action to pursue your Non-Nine-to-Five purpose and I mean REALLY pursue it, it takes growing up.

When we’re so accustomed to things going the way they’ve been going we get STUCK and complacent.

So, what will it take for us to GROW UP?

What will it take to STOP succumbing to excuses and reasons?

What needs to happen to CUT OUT the junk?

In 2013 I was presented with the opportunity to work with my business mentor yet I was petrified to take the leap. I was over $100,000 in debt, worried that I was being swindled, worried that she wouldn't help me, worried that I'd never make my business work anyway . . . YET this was the sign I needed to grow up and here I am today, a growing business owner.

Marianne Williamson is pretty spot on. You can stay where you are for the rest of your life allowing fears and excuses to run the show, staying stagnant, consuming more and more junk or . . . not. We ALWAYS have a choice.

Remain infantilized (false sense of safety) or grow up (get jolted and take radical action).

Which will you choose?

Seeing you Successfully Self-Employed,

- Jen

P.S: Allie, a wonderful member of The Non-Nine-to-Five™ community shared an amazing celebration last week on our private forum:

“I want to share with our community that here have been a lot of updates recently and I am celebrating having my busiest week of clients with 31 orders (155 meals), finishing my eBook, and hiring two people to help me in the kitchen!”
