Today I want to share with you 3 things I've learned to be true along the path of mastering self-employment:
1. It’s scary. Let’s be honest here and not try to “fake the funk.” If you’re an employee yet feel the call to be self-employed, doing work that connects to your heart and soul, it’s not easy to just up and start a business. It’s a lie to think it is.
2. It's overwhelming. You read books, listen to podcasts, watch videos in hopes that you’ll take actions forward yet more than likely feel overwhelmed by all of the information your taking in. Unfortunately, these outlets can only go so far and too much information can actually cause analysis paralysis.
3. You’re not meant to do this alone. There’s a societal tendency to celebrate the notion of, “Look at me I can do it all by myself!"
However, having expert help promotes purpose and fulfillment. It’s literally impossible to feel purposeful all alone! Trying to start a business without guidance, support, and like-minded people will feel like an uphill battle.
Here’s the thing, if you feel the call to be self-employed, you’re meant to follow the call . . .
When I started The Non-Nine-to-Five™ I had two clear goals: to help others do what I had been doing AND to make sure they didn’t feel alone doing it.
If you know someone that wants to impact the lives of others and truly make a difference as a self-employed person, have them fill out a Clarity Call Application here (I have 3 Clarity Calls open in the month of August). And if we find that the support I provide at The Non-Nine-to-Five™ isn’t a match, no worries.
Seeing you Successfully Self-Employed,
- Jen
P.S: Do you know someone who wants to be successfully self-employed but is feeling scared, overwhelmed, or alone? I have 3 Clarity Calls open in the month of August. Have them fill out an application here.
