3 archetypes that make it not-so-easy

Can we agree that it’s not easy to start a unique business, quit your job to go full-time in that business, and keep the business going?

Can we also agree that due to the pandemic so many more people are doing just that?

Agreed? Ok, great!

Why for some people does it seem easy to start a business and create success but for others it can feel almost impossible?

Is one person smarter than the other? Is it just luck? Are some people just wired for success?

No. We each have past experiences, social conditioning, and many of us fall more deeply into cognitive distortions. I know for myself as an HSP (Highly Sensitive Person) this has played a major role in my life.

Below are three archetypes to support your understanding of why taking the Non-Nine-to-Five journey can feel tough and it may shed some light for you.

The Information Gatherer:

You’re someone who needs to do a lot of research, read a lot of book, listen to a lot of podcasts, do a lot of journaling, talk to a lot of people, figure it all out before you take any actionable actions forward.

The Visionary:

You can picture your business, your clients, helping them and making a difference. You “daydream” about this, do a lot of writing about it, talk to friends about it but you don’t take actionable actions forward, so nothing moves forward.

The Behind-the-Scenes Action Taker:

You’ll create programs, packages, offerings, a website, social media pages, an LLC, get business cards made, but none of this will actually move your business forward and more than likely you are hoping that someone finds you online.

These three archetypes have something very big in common:

FEAR

Fear of failure

Fear of rejection

Fear of the unknown

Fear of change

I sat in massively gripping fear before I started The Non-Nine-to-Five™ because I believed if I just gathered as much information as I could and if I had a beautiful website and some cool offerings I would be in business. Yet, deep down I was petrified of failing and had no idea what was on the other side.

I can say 110% with confidence though that The Non-Nine-to-Five™ was created because I knew not only did I no longer want to sit in fear, I didn’t want others to sit in it either.

If you know a woman who is struggling with fear when it comes to building her business YET she knows she is not meant for a 9-5 job would you please pass this email on to her?

I’m sure you can agree, she needs to read this.

Seeing you Successfully Self-Employed,

- Jen

Celebrating that a prospective client became a paying client today! 🎉😊🙌 . This paying client is someone who I originally sent an announcement email to when I started my business last year! I'm feeling grateful that the timing is now aligned, and I was able to use my revised Call Script with her that Jen supported me with on my Half Day VIP Day! Very excited to start working with this client!
